Maxi Acrylic Mastic is an economical general-purpose, one-pack acrylic joint mastic and crack repair filler, for interior and exterior use. It forms a water-resistant joint and a dust and damp proof seal in situations too demanding for normal mastics.

Maxi Acrylic Mastic is available in white and grey colours.

Properties

Maxi Acrylic Mastic is a blend of pure acrylic polymers and precisely graded fillers and pigments. The product has the following characteristics:

• Waterproof.
• Weather resistant.
• Permanent flexibility (+ 15%) of original joint size.
• Easy to apply.
• Can be over coated after drying,
• High adhesion to most building surfaces.
• Economical

Areas Of Use

• Between concrete elements.
• Around doors & windows.
• Behind skirtings and architraves.
• To repair cracks in plaster and concrete.

Application Method

Surface Preparation

Ensure that all dust, dirt and foreign matter are brushed and scraped away. Also ensure the joint is solid, free from salts, oil, grease and ridges.

Clean aluminium surfaces with white spirit. On firm, dust-free surfaces the use of a primer is not necessary.

For surfaces that show signs of constant dusting or flaking, or for joints where constant high movement is anticipated, priming using Terraco Penetrating Primer or Terraco Terrabond A (1:3 with water) is recommended. Use suitable backing strip up rod to reduce joint depth to less than 10mm.

Application:

For exterior areas, do not apply if rain is imminent. Ensure at least 48 hours of dry condition. Maxi Acrylic Mastic can be applied by hand caulking gun. Ensure that the sealant is pushed firmly into the joint completely filling the area. Any tooling of the sealant surface must be carried out immediately using a joint shaping tool soaked in detergent solution. Edges of the joints should be protected with masking tape to avoid uneven application. The tapes should be removed immediately after tooling.

Clean tools and equipment with water after use.
