Antique Stucco can be used on most interior surfaces. Ideal finishing for restaurants, galleries, hotel lobbies, etc.
Preparation of surface
New surfaces: Ensure that all dust, dirt and foreign matter are scraped and brushed away. Also ensure the surfaces are free from salts, oil, grease and ridges. Protect all adjacent surfaces not to be covered. All cracks, chips, voids and damages should be repaired with Terraco Handycoat Exterior.
Old surfaces: Before applying to old surfaces, ensure the substrate is firm. First wash down the surface with a sugar soap solution, rinse and allow to dry before repairing or applying the primer.
Priming / Skimcoat
Prime surfaces with a coat of Penetrating Primer prior to application of Antique Stucco. Apply a coat of Handycoat by trowel to level and prepare substrate for Antique Stucco application.
Application & Cleaning of tools
Many different patterns can be achieved using various application tools. For an Venetian Stucco effect apply initial coat of material with a wide trowel Subsequent coats are applied using a fine blade spatula, building up a number of layers over a period of time. The colour may be varied for a more dramatic effect. When the material is drying, polish the surface using a white steel blade, until the required sheen is achieved.
For a contemporary effect, Antique Stucco is applied by spatula in patch work application utilising the translucency of the product to create the effect. Polish using a buffing cloth, while the Antique Stucco is drying.
Clean tools and equipment with water after use.
